 - What is Paint? What are it’s component parts? What are it’s functions? Paint is a pigmented liquid that dries to form a solid protective film, makes it easier to apply, and harder to get off. Paint by itself has three basic components, the first is resin, which is the binder that holds the pigment together. The second is the pigment, which can be any chemical, like minerals, makes the substance any color it wants to be.  - Who was Michelangelo? Michelangelo is an Italian Renaissance sculptor, painter, architect, and poet, born on March 6th, 1475 in Rome, Italy. When he was young, he went to a grammar school, soon, his father found out that Michelangelo focused more on drawing than his academic studies in grammar school. Michelangelo soon joined a workshop to be a painter, learning new techniques, also getting around to drawing a nude model as well. After succeeding in the said workshop, he soon joined an academy surrounded by different sculptures, soon starting to become a sculpture artist.  - Who was Leonardo DaVinci? Leonardo DaVinci was born on April 15th, 1452 in Anchiano, Italy, he lived with his father’s family during his childhood since his mother rejected him. Before he had a love for doing art, he always had a love of all things related to nature. DaVinci’s first major individual painting would be titled Annunciation in the mid 40s. He never was in any relationship, meaning he was never married nor did he have any children. He passed away on May 2nd, 1519 due to an acute stroke.  - What were his most significant contributions to art, society, science, or history? Give an example and support your statements with facts. The Renaissance originated at Florence, Italy, following through the Middle Ages and the Dark Ages as well. The word Renaissance is another word for a rebirth, showing that Europe is out of the Dark Ages. It welcomed artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael.
