Introduction

 - Greetings and Salutations, my name is Jack Morgan, I am a Senior at St Xavier University, I am part of the Esports team, I am majoring in Graphic Design and a minor in Game Design, and I am a hard worker, as I always try to get work done as soon as possible.

- My major is graphic design and my minor is game design, I chose these because I wanted to use different forms of art, how it’s made, and how I can make some pieces inspired by different artist, whether it be from drawing, Adobe Illustrated, etc. In terms of a game design minor, I always wanted to see what people use to create a game, in terms of programming, concepts, and how it would operate as well.

- I signed up for this course because it was one of my requirements for my major, plus I wanted to learn about more different artists since I’ve learned about different artists in Modern and Contemporary Art in the past as well, I always want to learn more about different artists.

- In terms of my experience with art, I often like to view art and see if there’s any significance behind said artwork as well, I also like to analyze how the art is made as well, whether it be a painting, a drawing, or even in virtual reality, every work of art needs to tell a story.

- In terms of paintings, I always like to view different artists, how it’s made, who made said painting, etc. I’ve used paint in one of my other classes throughout my other semesters, but never took an actual painting class. As I said, I prefer to look at paintings rather than making paintings. In terms of my favorite artwork, I’m really a fan of people like Andy Warhol and Takashi Murakami, using very high and vibrant colors to their artwork, and how creative their mindsets can be when it comes to making their artwork, like taking inspiration from celebrities for Warhol, and inspiration from anime like Murakami.

- Besides watching videos about different artists in Modern and Contemporary Art class, I never got around to watching actual paint documentaries on my off-time, hopefully after this class, I’ll get around to watching more documentaries like the ones we’ll watch in this classs.
